It’s cool that he gets the recognition. he deserves it. guys did you know that his is the only name so far that’s on wikipedia as far as one of our rollerbladers. That’ pretty big. I mean he has the most number of pro skates out. been in one of the highest amounts of videos, has a few different companies and still can kill shit when he wants to. The man should be a sports announcer for x games and maybe then we’d be back in. have someone in the sport that not only has a huge following but knows the tricks inside and out.

is it just me, or has the rollerblading community begun to get more and more exposure in the past few months. maybe this is a sign of things to come.
shima deserves this.

If you read further into it you will see that this is nothing more than an ad for an event being held at Intuition. They probably paid the newspaper for it, don’t get all excited.
I will be impressed when I see skate companies featured in the wall st. journal.

i remember when shima won his first x games haha
he was never really gangster he was always just shima he was the only legend that never got worse skating wise he is old enough for all of the old man contests with the old washed up pros but he can still kick the shit out of the skaters now he keeps getting better hahah

Not paid for. They ran the pic and article at their own discretion after I sent the newspaper a press release with info about the Nimh Tour stop at Intuition Skate Shop. Some lady at the Bakersfield Californian called me back for more info on ‘what makes Brian Shima such a big deal.” Then she called back again and wanted me to send over some high res pics.
The end result was some positive publicity for rollerblading.
The day was a huge success!
