Many skaters have came and gone throughout the short history of our sport. Many talented people who have impacted blading immensely have came and went within a few short years, no longer to be seen again.
Only a handful have lasted the test of time and continue to progress skating to insane levels today.
Our newest pro rider for Create Originals is one of the most iconic pro’s that our industry has ever seen. Nobody has been skating as hard and as raw for as long as he has. He has an unmatchable track record throughout the years complete with legendary sections, interviews and contest placings.
This guy’s just one of the greatest and we couldn’t be happier to have him down. Ladies and gents, please welcome Brian Shima to the CO pro team. – Billy O’Neill.

Ok. A few things.
1. I believe the above me isnt that intelligent.
2. Unless u know shima and elliot or were there or have both sides, u don’t really know wut happened.
3. Why they sponsor Shima is about business. I agree that he’s not exactly my fave skater and yes they have an am team that would be more than happy to go pro. But there’s a gap of skill getting smaller and smaller between the no names who are incredible and the already pros who are incredible. So why not sponsor someone who already has a name and is gonna bring sales and shima followers as apposed to sponsring some dude who no one really knows about.
4. Its a brilliant business strategy. In kno some of u whiny bitches hate that there’s actually business involved in this industry but how else are u supossed to BUY any of ur fave products. So now, shima and billy will have a deal where his skates will come with his frames. Also, the hype will soot sales up and the shima followers will start buyin CO.
There’s been way to many “new bloods” who don’t do anything for the companies. Jeff Dalnas is a good example. No one lined up to get USDs because Jeff rode for em… But if USD announces that Murdas on the team, EVERYONE is gonna cop a pair.

Shima is not only a true legend in rollerblading history but also my roll model in skating the industry. I own an aggressive in my country n once he served my order by himself (before Rat Tail Distribution closed). On that point, I was amazed…I mean he’s a good businessman too. But I just dont understand how someone who is past his prime (blading) can go pro for OG, especially considering the fact that he already has his own blading company. As some of the previous posters pointed out, there are so many up and coming talents to sponsor, why him ? other than business and publicity reasons… or are those the only reasons ?

its simple. you were either rollerblading when shima was on top of the game (HANDS DOWN on top of the game) or you are younger and started after he passed the torch to Haffey Aragon Broskow and Farmer. If you were rolling when Shima was on top you would know that noone could touch him and almost all of his peers from the time have completely dropped out. Shima is still going hard, no he isn’t nimble and agile like a 15 year old but he is a LEGEND and the best rollerblader of all time.

Regardless of what happened between Shima and Elliot they are both legends that have had a lasting impact on our sport. A big part of rollerblading is friendship and I would like to think that the friendship they once had will one day allow them to realize that companies and money often come and go but good friends and legends are never forgotten. I do not know the details about what happened between them. I do think it would be better for all parties involved to forgive and forget past transgressions in the interest of reconciliation.
