biggest slams & injuries happens a lot on regular tricks, you think there is no risk since you master them and don’t focus that much ; while trying new (risky) stuff you are usually 100% on the trick.

Ok has anyone not learned from Sara Burkes death or any rollerbladers death because they were not wearing a helmet. I dont care how good you are your never good enough to mess up once and it ending your life. I hope he gets healthy soon but as someone who was saved by my helmet.

I appreciate that guys like Aragon go hard all the time! He doesn’t have to keep competing, he could just rely on his sections and kick back and watch with the other american pros (B-Cow, JJ, EB here’s lookin at you) but he takes the risk every time to put on a good show for the crowd.

@jdcaron, even though helmets aren’t all the hype they’re made out to be they’re still better than nothing at all. Thankfully, Brian’s injuries were not too serious. I’m pretty sure would’ve been better off though if he was wearing a helmet for the fall.

A helmet, as uncomfortable & unnatural they are to wear, would have helped a TON in that situation. I did the SAME thing doing a vert show 10 years ago, clipped coming back in and went straight to flat bottom ONTO MY HEAD & slid on the helmet, headstand stylee, for a few feet. Did not feel that great and skated the next day but I felt LUCKY TO BE ALIVE.

Helmets don’t help you when you go all slamface. Next thing you know people will be wearing facemasks like on lacrosse helmets. HAHA. I have nothing against wearing helmets, it just bugs the shit out of me when someone slams their FACE and people say, “he should have been wearing a helmet”.
