It’s a difficult thing…..About a year ago rollerblading was quite important for me.Today I hate it. I’ver been doing this for about 7-8 years and now I just hate it. Blading became some kind of stupid contest like ‘HIGHER,BETTER,DEAD’. That’s why it’s so worthless. B.C. is just another example and victim of this stupidity and money destroying our beloved sport/hobby/lifestyle.

It really should not be about pushing yourself to the edge of death and for some it seems like this is the way to go. But do not hate rollerblading because there are some out there who have the ability to lace tricks that put them on the edge of death. Rollerblade because you want to fulfill your needs, not to impress someone else. I feel as though I am at a stage in rollerblading were I just skate stuff I feel comfortable on and know I will have a good time. I do not go out looking to get hurt or try some drop rail, I just want to have a good time. Good luck BC, get well soon.

come on some of the people pushing the craziest stuff aren’t making money. It’s just progression. People die falling off sidewalks, for what rollerblading is, it’s surprising there aren’t more serious injuries but skating shouldn’t languish at the threat of injury.

I like rollerblading as it is, if someone likes huge tricks on big drop rains, lacing double set gaps or like BCAM in Killerboots (bs royale up the ledge over sharp fence :F you are rollerblader-stuntman. That insane tricks are being done by a professionals and they know their limits, but some of them like Bcam ignores it. Personaly i like to watch these huge tricks, but then i’am rollerblading i do what i am able to do and it is fun for me. That doesn’t mean that if top rollerbladers starts to do insane tricks you should do it too or quit it.

Here is the story.
Brandon Campbell is the new Intuition Skate Shop team rider.
He has a full page ad in the next Daily Bread (Volume 13 Number 10).
Brandon and Ryan Schude shot the picture for the ad, and then they went to another spot to try an get another photo.
I cant exactly say what happened because I wasn’t there in person, but at the second spot he fell trying a ledge of some sort.
Paramedics were dispatched, and The Bulldog was carried away on a stretcher to a hospital. The medics and firemen put him in a neck brace for precautionary reasons.
The Bulldog fell hard enough to give himself a concussion, and after a few tests and check-ups, was released from the hospital.
Reality is the Bulldog is rugged as fuck, and wasn’t happy with just one laced trick/photo for the ad.
Later this week I will release another pic…..

i just read that comment above, and im wondering to myself, is there news and reports this often of pro and/or idolized skateboarders pushing their shit as they do also and ending up in comas and in hospitals and stuff? im not sure they have a community like we do to be aware of it all, all the time, but it doesn’t seem like they do. i wouldnt know either but it’s just a interesting question because they risk their health probably as much as our top pros do

If you want to become pro an’ all that I wish you the best of luck, but enjoyin’ what you do is FAR more important than getting so called “exposure”.
Roll for fun, you’ll still fall, you may break the odd bone but don’t lunge yourself down death-szed ledges, gaps and rails for exposure.
I want to have a wife and kids someday and if the fact I don’t try 15ft disaster grinds makes me a wuss then I’m a wuss, but you can progress your abilities without killin’ yourself.
Even the best can die. Look at Rich Taylor God bless him.
