Why the f*** broskow won ..
The judge must be blind
February 26th, 2012 at 3:59 am
Hell yeh Broskow!
Can’t wait for the edits!
February 26th, 2012 at 4:24 am
Hopefully Vinny Minton filmed, his BCSD edits are always the best!
February 26th, 2012 at 4:30 am
@nazi oh and your better than alex broskow are you where you ranked in the world?
February 26th, 2012 at 5:12 am
Eric Michael, hell yeh. FLA throwing down hard. Coolest dude you know.
February 26th, 2012 at 6:56 am
apparently broskow does not favor the winterclash skatepark..
February 26th, 2012 at 7:20 am
Brett urbas should have won. AB was top three but not first.
No hate at all. The judges just chose the big name over the
Local ripper. Total bs
February 26th, 2012 at 7:40 am
Whaaat? Broskow didn’t skate 4 stairs rail? He’s good rollerblader without any doubt but he’s not a true proffessional, he already showed that few years in a row not willing to participate in EU biggest comp- Winterclash. Must be something with “I am coolest and american” syndrome. Anyway congrats with the big win.
Looking forward to see some BCSD edits especially with Brett Urbas and Brian Aragon
February 26th, 2012 at 8:29 am
Conclusion : US skaers win their own contests when europeans (french) are not competiting.
February 26th, 2012 at 9:21 am
okey , so AB won because nome of the european came ?
February 26th, 2012 at 9:58 am
Ah, haffey`s 5th. Anyway, waiting for edits.
February 26th, 2012 at 10:33 am
US bladers win US contests. Nothing more…
February 26th, 2012 at 11:39 am
Yes, congratulations from europe ;) this made my day!
want to see some clips
February 26th, 2012 at 11:51 am
so what? EU bladers win EU contests…..
February 26th, 2012 at 12:44 pm
EU bladers win US contests when they come !
February 26th, 2012 at 12:53 pm
US bladers are not able to win international contests anymore… EU skaters don’t have the same financial support from the major brands so they can’t participate to BCSD this year, the travel is too expensive. But it’s a good thing for US bladers, they finaly won something… a local event but it’s better than nothing !
February 26th, 2012 at 2:24 pm
guess broskow was chillin out at winterclash, to smash BCSD
February 26th, 2012 at 2:26 pm
Why does everyone have to relate it to the winterclash.?That contest looks like a shit show. It’s sounds like none of you get rollerblading but sure know how to suck the fun out of it.
February 26th, 2012 at 2:36 pm
There’s a smiley at the bottom of the page, left to the Google ads. Just sayin.
February 26th, 2012 at 2:41 pm
bladers win blader contests.
February 26th, 2012 at 3:00 pm
I ride a unicycle I’m over skating
February 26th, 2012 at 3:31 pm
can’t wait ! last year he won the NYC Street Invitational.
February 26th, 2012 at 3:36 pm
Nth to compare
Winterclash this year was really shitty Broskow knows what is skaying about
February 26th, 2012 at 3:36 pm
broskow won bcsd because its not a spin to win steroid european flipping contest. in america we appreciate a different type of skater – a real skater. clearly pros pick between winterclash and bcsd since they are so close together and nothing is more badass than winning that sledgehammer. im glad all your pussies hurt though!
February 26th, 2012 at 4:01 pm
BROSKY vs The World… Brosky wins 9 times out of 9.
February 26th, 2012 at 4:30 pm
fuck tha haters! Broskow is the Man 4 years.
February 26th, 2012 at 5:03 pm
In all honesty broskow ripped but what is complete bs is that he landed 2 tricks in the finals. 2 fucking beast tricks but really only 2 while brett urbas fucking exploded the park hammer after hammers.
True fact is usa blading judging is fuckin biased to favor the big names.
Nothing to do with euro guys.
Montre and haffey were fucking garbage yesterday and still placed over franco who shreded and that chris smith guy that is a beast that has been skating from the AM qualifs to the pro finals non stop.
February 26th, 2012 at 5:16 pm
Encore votre osti de debat, us vs eu. Fermez donc vos gueules bande de connards pis allez skater!!!!!!!!!!
February 26th, 2012 at 5:23 pm
I am a robot, I can perform any spin into grind with no style
February 26th, 2012 at 6:03 pm
at winterclash Broskow suck ? now you can suck him.
February 26th, 2012 at 6:43 pm
Its crazy that Broskow and Ben Weis are the only people who have won Bittercold twice.
February 26th, 2012 at 7:04 pm
Bret Urbas won, wasnt even close. they gave broskow to avoid embarrassment of another teenager beating the pros. broskow skated one obstacle all nite a small rail, while Bret tore the park to shreds.
Congrats Bret. Broskow is a fraud.
February 26th, 2012 at 7:09 pm
andrew conners Says:
February 26th, 2012 at 3:36 pm
broskow won bcsd because its not a spin to win steroid european flipping contest.
he did two 540 disaster grind tricks. that’s not spin to win?
February 26th, 2012 at 7:14 pm
Brett Urbas is the real winner! Seriously, now it’s not just French youth that you’re trying to screw. Now you try to stand in the way of American up n comers as well?
American comps are so fixed!!! It’s time for a complete overhaul of the judging system, with standardized scoring sheets that can be examined and even publicized after the comp, so judges can be held accountable for their fanboy bias. F— Ameri-comps.
February 26th, 2012 at 7:16 pm
Where the hell is the edit? I hope it’s like the tv pilot again!!!!

ROLLERBLADING IS AN UNDERGROUND SPORT, AN ESOTERIC SET OF INDIVIDUALS THAT COLLECTIVELY HAVE A LOT IN COMMON.

LIKE HAFFEY SAID IN AN INTERVIEW, SO MANY PEOPLE ON HERE TALK SHIT. I AM WASTING MY TIME ON HERE, BUT KIDS PLEASE STOP IT
“ANSWERS TOO SHORT TRY AGAIN ” u stop 2 ok
February 26th, 2012 at 7:36 pm
agreed. Brett won easily. he made all the big name pros look like amateurs. broski skated the rail entirely he shouldn’t even have been in Top 3.
Brett is a beast. Finally we have someone to compete against the euro chuckers.
February 26th, 2012 at 7:38 pm
1. Invest time and money to build new, big obstacles.
2. Watch 10 best skaters of the day tear these obstacles to shreds.
3. Give top prize to skater who didn’t skate any of these obstacles.
February 26th, 2012 at 7:39 pm
Brett should be proud to get second. He did lace a bunch of tricks. Problem is all those tricks have been done before. Probably in a different judging style Brett would have won for sure. However BCSD is not judged like that. Broskow did tricks people hadn’t seen on those obstacles before. Brett’s tricks we’re also predictable. Spin and keep moving your one foot to make it a new trick.
Michigan natives were even on the judging panel and they also felt broskow won. Enough said
February 26th, 2012 at 7:41 pm
while I love broskow there is no way he should have won. the brett kid killed shit. he was as good or better than cudot from the year before.
the year people disagreed over haffey vs. bolino it was close. this year was obvious – brett won.
February 26th, 2012 at 7:44 pm
@Eric Foust….lol….broskow skated the same little rail over and over and did tricks we saw in the am contest. brett kicked his ass. no wonder the french laugh at us.
February 26th, 2012 at 8:16 pm
Please, do yourself a favour, go get a fuckin’ brain and forget us !
February 26th, 2012 at 8:44 pm
I hope Brett makes some street edits this year to capitalize on his success!!
I’m tired of seeing the same old pros. In 2 years almost all of the American pros will be 30 or older, so I think it’s about time to start supporting some of the younger talent, like Josiah Blee, Andrew Jacuzzi, Mason Richard, Brett Urbas, etc etc. We really do have a lot of young talent right here in America, but no one who really believes in them or is willing to put them in the spotlight ahead of the “big names.” Razors was the only company to send an American AM to winterclash, and I think that is a step in the right direction! give some of these kids a chance to make a name, they might surprise you!!!
February 26th, 2012 at 9:16 pm
There is too many little bitches who keep crying that the people they like didn’t win. get the fuck off rollernews so you can win a comp your self. stop saying the pros are shit when you cant do half the tricks they can do when their in switch.
February 26th, 2012 at 9:36 pm
Hahahaha Broskow have to say thank u to the frenchies for do not come in here to kick his fat ass.. so finaly he can win something…
February 26th, 2012 at 9:41 pm
do you think the blading community will show love to Brett the same way it did to Bolino when he got robbed?
I’m excited to see another American who can slug it out with Aragon, Haffey, and the likes, so I will be excited to see any future edits he puts together. Anyone else feel the same?
February 26th, 2012 at 9:44 pm
browskow skates a rail at Winterclash and gets laughed at…he comes to America and skates an even smaller rail at BCSD and gets first place. and you wonder why rollerblading is dying in America?
Congrats to Brett Urbas on destroying ALL comptition at BCSD. Hope Remz sends him to compete against the Frenchies at FISE.
February 26th, 2012 at 9:49 pm
the blind judges picked Broskow for Pro and Garlinhouse for Am.
those who watched the comp picked Urbas for Pro and Korey Waikiki for AM
judges need to visit an Optometrist tomorrow
February 26th, 2012 at 10:15 pm
this shit is so fucked up just wait for the edits to come out. i was there i saw it all. bret urbas won because he destroyed everything and i dont even like the kid. broskow should have been in 5th or 6th he landed 2 tricks wtf that wins a contest is beyond me the rail is tiny as shit. aragon barely landed a single trick and was late to the podium because he knew he wasnt going to place i saw him running there late as fuck for pics. bailey had second for destryong the death rail and jimmy hake was a monster and should have had third for his balls of steel. all these people on here talking shit have no idea what theyre talkin about and werent there so shut the fuck up. i talked with demetrios who also murderd shit after and he laughed his ass off when i told him the polls. everyone after the comp was laughing and talking shit about the judging this bittercold was the worst one ive ever beeen to even the trade show sucked ass
February 26th, 2012 at 10:27 pm
have to agree I had 1. Urbas 2. Bailey and 3. Hake. Both Aragon and Haffey left thinking they had lost. Giving broskow all that money for skating a skateboard rail was a crime.
February 26th, 2012 at 10:29 pm
I missed my AM heat cause I was too busy jerking off in the bathroom but broskow didn’t deserve to win. I wish Valo would hurry up and make me pro.
February 26th, 2012 at 10:36 pm
I vote…..1st FARMER. 2nd STOCKWELL. 3rd MORALES. 4th J BAH. 5th D. WILSON. 6th ARIAS. oh wait thats right.
February 26th, 2012 at 10:39 pm
Broskow had the trick of the contest. the 540 disaster ao topsoul. Biggest response from the crowd. No one cares about a local kid who “practices” at that park 365 days a year.
February 26th, 2012 at 11:13 pm
You all are fucking faggots!!! Shut the fuck up!
February 27th, 2012 at 12:24 am
What’s the trick at 3:58 called? Is it like a fast tap flatspin?
February 27th, 2012 at 12:27 am
omfg wrong one. This dang computer
February 27th, 2012 at 1:36 am
It should be called Bitter Cold Fashion Show. Seriously who can look the most like a retarded homeless hipster.
February 27th, 2012 at 1:43 am
No Euro Skaters -> No Big Tricks -> No Real Comps ! -> Figure skating -> The Gayest Win !!!
Congrats Hoeskow !!!
February 27th, 2012 at 1:50 am
some asshole above wrote this -”Broskow had the trick of the contest. the 540 disaster ao topsoul”
what the asshole left out is that Broskow did this tick on a small skateboard rail. Same trick was done by Sizemore 2 years ago on the A Frame a MUCH bigger obstacle.
Actually, the trick of the contest was Haffey launching up and grinding the top of the wall ride.
Brett Urbas won.
February 27th, 2012 at 2:43 am
Kewiness
This is because you have to be butt buddies with an owner to be a pro. How else is Brandon Smith a pro? The young talent I being shit on because there is so little money in the industry that the people in charg are forced to help out their friends instead of the people who are th bet rollerbladers. No wonder b smith sees Amall and Valo as quality companies worn supporting: they are sponsoring him when there are 20 other am rollerbladers who are better overll rollerbladers than him, hands down.
The shit is all politics right now…fucked up
February 27th, 2012 at 2:51 am
I just wanted to apologize i thought this was a skateboard contest. I couldn’t understand why all the other skaters were risking serious injury doing such big tricks. then they gave me a check and said it was a rollerblade contest. i fucking laughed all the way home. i skated a fucking p-rail and those dumb asses gave me first place prize money. only in America -only in rollerblading.
February 27th, 2012 at 4:10 am
Broskow won, live with it and for those who were there he laced more than two tricks in the finals they just were not hammers. Every trick that Bret did he either did more than once on the same obstacle or his hand touched. I was there and he was garbage. And his tricks had been all done before by someone else. Broskows tricks were fresh new and stylish! Who cares about europe or even rollernews opinions. This site just needs to be shut down and run by real rollers not money hungry jackasses!
February 27th, 2012 at 4:54 am
My honest opinion, I am sick of euro spin chuckers. I used to love the shit, but it gets really old. American skaters have NOT gotten worse, they’ve gotten better. They did the spin to win shit back in 2002-2005. Around the same time the euro kids first put on skates. Back then, they had the same sloppy ass style as the europeans do now, they have since gotten way more refined. It would be folly to think that they can’t still do almost all of the tricks they could then.
February 27th, 2012 at 5:06 am
FUCK YEAH Garlinghouse! go Minnesota!
February 27th, 2012 at 5:36 am
@Lee – the American pros haven’t gotten refined, they’ve gotten old and are afraid of getting hurt or no longer have the skills to go big. Brett Urbas made the old pros look silly.
Back in the day, pros were cycled through every 4 years. This current group has been around for a decade and it’s time they retire. They can’t build obstacles small enough for Broskow or the Kelso’s anymore. Time for some new blood.
February 27th, 2012 at 9:23 am
Does anyone know who was announced for OneMag’s “skater of the year”?
February 27th, 2012 at 10:35 am
Broskow suck ..
February 27th, 2012 at 10:49 am
nils jansons got skater of the year, well deserved I think…
February 27th, 2012 at 5:08 pm
I watched every minute of both the am and pro contest. I’ve been rollerblading since 94 and have been to a lot of competitions.
BRETT URBAS WON. Bailey 2nd. Broskow 3rd. End of fucking story.
February 27th, 2012 at 5:39 pm
urbas did a soul, a royale and a kg. all stuff he did the entire contest just on different obstacles and tons of people have done the last 3 years there. it was old after the first year.
you’d think if your dad owned that skate park and you lived there, you’d come up with a couple new tricks to do…
February 27th, 2012 at 9:06 pm
To win a Pro contest you HAVE TO DO NEW TRICKS, not recycling old tricks from 2001
February 27th, 2012 at 9:07 pm
He also did a disaster SWITCH true makio, which no one else did.
February 27th, 2012 at 10:37 pm
I was there to watch at the comp. I would say that brett urbas skated well, but did not do one hammer or one memorable trick, kid should be happy with second-as I’m sure he is. Broskow did some amazing tricks for sure, and there was more than two. also i think judging isn’t just based on the finals–true? I just don’t understand how Kevin Lapierre (the guy who was hilariously touching his hat after each trick-even each trick in a line) did not advance to the finals. Dude was straight shredding and i don’t think he missed but maybe one trick the whole time.I think they shoulda made the pros keep skating a little longer, though. I mean the finals seemed to be over before anyone knew it and the judgement came out in under ten minutes.
February 27th, 2012 at 10:56 pm
Brett Urbas won. Not sur who came in second -could be Baily,Broskow orJimmy Hake. I’d prbably go with Hake who did the bigger trick.
March 2nd, 2012 at 12:28 am
Man B Smith is smooth and can kill it. Seriously skating is not all about the biggest tricks anyone can buck themselves and get lucky. Eventually that luck is gonna run dry. B Smith laces very trick. BCSD is about the over all skating, style, creativeness, consistency and yes difficulty but that is a small part. BCSD is about the Trade Show anyway thats why the contest started.
