is the second comp edit i watched that featured basically no clips of the blader who won the comp ? Did broskow win because everyone was afraid he will kick a trash can again or is the industry afraid for a home town hero like Bret Urbas who skated his ass off beat the pros who dont even show their hunger to win ?

Broskow just skated the small skateboard rail like he always does. Ifyou want to see his tricks, just look at last years Bitter Cold. Brett Urbas killed it this year and was the real winnner.

Brett Urbas, Nils and Julien Cudot are the future of this sport. In Europe, they’ve embraced their young stars and recognize their talent. In America, they cling to the past and promote washed up old pros like Broskow. Everyone knows Brett won – he just didn’t get $2000.

Completely agree, Dubs are just the start, Pretty much every good skier from flow up have dub cork 10s switch and natural. Would be so sick to see triple corks going down on skates eventually.
For me its the way rollerblading needs to go to seperate itself from skateboarding and bmxing cos lets face it skateboarders have been sessioning mega ramps for years and aint done shit.

I was there to watch at the comp. I would say that brett urbas skated well, but did not do one hammer or one memorable trick, kid should be happy with second-as I’m sure he is. Broskow did some amazing tricks for sure, and there was more than two. also i think judging isn’t just based on the finals–true? I just don’t understand how Kevin Lapierre (the guy who was hilariously touching his hat after each trick-even each trick in a line) did not advance to the finals. Dude was straight shredding and i don’t think he missed but maybe one trick the whole time.

Broskow did the sickest trick of the comp with the best style, hes my favorite skater, that being said, he did not deserve to win, brett did fakie 1080, 900s, spun into the pyramid box just killed the park like crazy.
Broskow 540 ao top soul first try, attempted a disaster true X and did a fakie 540 sweat 10th try
Everyone there knows brett won just like Jonjon should have a few years past.

Best BitterCold I’ve ever attended but worst judging at a rollerblade comp I’ve ever seen. I really had fun, good vibe in the crowd and great skating at every level.
but dudes come on, you cant have a guy who just skates on a little rail win the comp. some guy named Brett Urbas who I never heard of was the clear winner. even Aragon and Haffey walked early cuz they knew they were beat.

I don’t blame Broskow, he’s just a one dimensional skater.I blame the judges for awarding first place to a one dimensional skater. The other 9 skaters in the finals killed the entire park, Broskow killed a skateboard rail.
Imagine a skateboard comp where Tony Hawk killed the entire park and some guy just skated back and forth tapping a small rail. Tony Haw would obviously win.
Only in rollerblading can something like this happen (and only in America) where the sport is becoming more like figure skating than aggressive skating.

Just because you like to see the same ol chuck a big spin into a grind doesnt mean thats what should win. Brett is generic and didnt win for a reason. People complaining still prob had a blast all weekend and since you know we rollerblade everyone feels the need to hate. Hense why our industry blows. Because no matter what happens, what gets thrown down, how much fun a skater has, there will always be someone crying because who they think skated better didn’t win or so n so didn’t do this big 540 whatever. Next time your all out blading try having fun and not talking shit every 2 seconds. Nearly all the tricks in this edit have been rinsed to death in comps, tornado disaster this, ao topside transfer that… seen it all before. Broskow does tricks that people dont even think of, let alone can do themselves. With incredible style. Thats why he won. And I would much rather see an edit of what he did than this garbage.
Props to haffey for bringing something new to rolling and pushing the limits of comp skating!
