Bake Frames: Testing the prototype
Andrew Birch and Michael Dawson testing the prototype of the Bake Powerframe.

We’re keen to show off what this frame can do, even while still using the ABS prototype. – Ash Gavin.
Shot and edited by Jordan Jones.
- Bake: 72mm flat frame w/ h-block: Kickstarter.
This project will only be funded if at least £3,000 is pledged by Monday Dec 31. - Another picture of the frames | Visit Bakeframes.co.uk.

it looks like there could be a problem with that rised groove walls on so tiny groove. on that blue rail it seemed to grind on walls not getting any groove action, although on regular park coping it might be real tight.
so tell us, is that ok?

i wanna see a backslide on those, that would be proof for me

Terrible, terrible, terrible. The future is not 72mm wheels, the future is not skating flat, the future is not asking for 3k through kickstarter and showing in your poor prototype edits that youv’e been wasting money on clothing transfers and coffee mugs.
Disappointing stuff lads, there is room for a UK frame company, I’m sure but not one that clearly takes away from our sport ‘aggressive inline’ and adds to another ‘powerblading/fitness blading’.
Wake up and smell the coffee, do not spend another penny on these frames, finish your university project while your ahead and support our sport by creating and investing in proven products.

Why is everyone pushing 72mm wheels? Seems like a 64 or 67mm setup would be better, and it would be much easier to design a workable frame and h block around the smaller wheels. Ledges are the killers for that type of setup, and its mostly because the wheels are so soft. Is anyone making a 72/90 or 92?

creating and investing in proven products? the industry will not progress without innovation and development.
and your hating on a ABS rapid prototype? cool.
December 22nd, 2012 at 3:57 am
still no 62 god just make a 62 frame
December 22nd, 2012 at 5:49 am
I like the idea
I think they will come out with other models to suit different needs
But to all the negative Nancy’s on here stop shitting on a product that isn’t even out yet please
Be the change u want to see
Get out and blade and try being positive just try it

“creating and investing in proven products? the industry will not progress without innovation and development.

And you think the industry will progress with investing in ‘half baked’ products?
If you guys invest your money into these things you’ll be living off ‘baked’ beans.
IDIOTS!

such a copy of kaltik frames, losers
December 22nd, 2012 at 3:24 pm
I don’t think the tricks looked sketchy.
And like Satx Roller said its not even out and you haven’t even skated them so how would anyone know?
Building any ideas upon something that isnt true means anything else that follows is also false.
” This will make the industry grown” . . . ” No this will”
The truth is no one knows and even less people are trying to make a difference. So unless your keeping the secret to making the industry grow to yourself or are doing something about it just support and get the sand out of your vagina

Seriously make a 62 frame… start there… no one wants bigger wheels.
December 22nd, 2012 at 4:58 pm
this was comical and makes me feel better supporting any other frame co.
December 22nd, 2012 at 5:07 pm
a 72mm version of the Kaltic frame is not innovative its insulting. You dudes come across way to juiced on yourselves.
December 22nd, 2012 at 7:01 pm
I’ve got some kaltiks I ride with 57mm. The slides work good every once in awhile I catch a wheel. Im sure 72mm wheels are super fast but wow i cant imagine its worth the weight the bounciness and stickiness.

72 seems a bit too big. Would love to see bigger wheels come out, but more around the upper 60′s.
I like the innovation though. With every new innovative idea, striking a balance takes time. Look at the original skateboard, snowboard, wakeboard, and ski designs.
We’ll get there guys, these are just stepping stones. It’s interesting to see the progress.
December 23rd, 2012 at 5:55 am
Is the industry listening? People will buy 8 wheels again if you give us a workable frame for wheels in the upper 60mm range. It would be bad ass and blading would be awesome. So there ya go baked…give me a sick 65mm flat setup and you’ll get my $60. Been at it for years and 72mm is a fad. Guaranteed, it’s just too hard to roll.
December 23rd, 2012 at 5:21 pm
You guys are complaint about sliding ledges on bigger wheels.? Learn how to rollerblade properly and you won’t have to.
December 23rd, 2012 at 7:26 pm
72 is too big. They make everything look terrible. Wtf, this whole big wheel trend is so dumb for aggressive type skating, where most tricks focus on grinding. It’s all done out of boredom and no real innovation ideas IMO.
By raising the center of gravity, we essentially have a product that is actually counter-progressive to aggressive type skating, where a lower center of gravity is preferred.
But whatever, I understand, people are bored and trendy and that’s all this big wheel shit is, a gimmick, it won’t stand any test of time because people will figure out it’s shit for aggressive skating..
Leave the big wheels for the people who like to go fast at a city park or whatever..
