Those suck. I wouldn’t pay that much for that tripe, no matter who did it. Doesn’t Eric Burke have any pics for sale? :)

February 17th, 2007 at 6:23 pm
Much respect to Arlo , ( i remember seeing some old tv program when i was a kid and saying … wow!!!)
However…. since then Its been a lttile painful to watch Arlo pontificate in such a whiny tone (barely dead, black market, etc) on everything i see him on.
I don’t need you or anyone else to validate why i love what I do.

By the way ,this does’nt have anything to do with his attempt at a hipster high art career.
Not my style , but i could see a lot of people loving it. “Quitters never lose” is a nice title.

I wonder if Nike would care about the one with their logo
February 17th, 2007 at 7:21 pm
Louis Vuitton in there too

I don’t get it, he sold the quitters never lose one at the heat video premiere for like $10 or $15 bucks and personally signed them — how is the same thing $125? I appreciate that these took time to make and there’s a creative aspect to it, but … ugh, whatever.
February 17th, 2007 at 8:43 pm
i can already see my professor ripping it apart.
either way, i personally don’t care about his art much, what i do care is his impact on the rollerblading culture. ” he is the messiah”
February 17th, 2007 at 8:45 pm
700 bucks for a print#??? wtf?
February 17th, 2007 at 8:48 pm
overpriced IMO, but im still tempted to buy one
the quitters never lose one is awesome
February 17th, 2007 at 8:51 pm

The reason they are so expensive (and actually they aren’t really that expensive for art prices) is that they are giclee prints - it’s the best form of reproduction printing you can get. This is real deal fine-art level quality that lasts for basically ever.
February 18th, 2007 at 12:01 am
um andrew high quality art would be a one of a kind by hand piece not some print 1 of who knows how many but yes thas not thatmuch $ nor do they look that bad
February 18th, 2007 at 1:24 am
Some of those are really nice.
The ‘Nice Forever” would be my choice.
February 18th, 2007 at 1:51 am
Angelo F - Many many professional artists sell artwork this way and it can go for thousands depending on their profile. Yes, it would be with more if it was an original but for reproductions Giclee is industry standard. You can’t get much better. The colours are accurate and lightfast and will probably last longer than you will. $125 for an Arlo piece is a bargain.
Besides, it’s still the same quality no matter how many you sell.. hence why Andy Warhol’s work is still so valuable even though he mass produced that shit.
February 18th, 2007 at 4:59 am
i would buy the quitters one but the second one he should just keep for himself
February 18th, 2007 at 7:02 am
there shit, your looking at failure.
February 18th, 2007 at 9:40 am
i’m repeating myself here but the man is a god! i love everything he does eventhough his skating carrier was way before my time.
his work is truly inspirational. kids who don’t get it; that’s ok, art is just not your thing ;)
February 18th, 2007 at 3:43 pm
yea dont whine about this being a reproduction. An audio CD is very cheap to make and it cost you like $15 to buy it. What you’re paying is the artist (and everything between him and the CD, producers etc..)
Its the same here, you dont pay for the material (not like when you’re buyin something unique) but you’re payin the artist, its more like making a donation for his “art”.
After this, thinking that its shit or whatever is personnal opinion. (i personnaly think that arlo’s art is pure shit)
February 18th, 2007 at 7:39 pm
I like the style but they are over priced. i liked the one with the turtle saying ” dont get it twisted” but $700 haha
February 19th, 2007 at 1:04 am
Arlo,
what happened? I used to want to be like you when I was a kid and then I saw this picture of you taking a shit on the back of that magazine and I saw the pink shoes and stuff like this.
its good to be unique but when you try too hard at it you look strange and act like someone your not. maybe im just too normal to understand though

February 19th, 2007 at 6:29 am
archer maybe u really faild when u wanted to be come like sombody
February 19th, 2007 at 10:02 am
You kids just leave the man alone.
February 19th, 2007 at 3:02 pm
Just a bummer people here lack the age and intellectual capability to give constructive criticism.
I’d buy something like this anyday, rather than paying $1000 for a painting of a pot plant. Depending on the type of pot ofcourse.
February 20th, 2007 at 3:09 am
Ya seriously you guys dont know the man or what inspires him to make these pieces.
February 20th, 2007 at 7:32 pm
The prints are pretty cool in my opinion. I’m a fan of this type of art and like trxtr said, i’d rather spend cash on this than a painting of a boat. At least this stuff looks cool.
February 23rd, 2007 at 5:07 am
man, i love his art. i admire his style. if i had the money, i would totally buy “Bleh.”, but its so damn expensive!

WE SKATE BECAUSE OF THIS BOY..HE INVENTED THAT SHIT..AS AN ARTIST ON SKATES. ….RESPECT…NICE PAINTING FO REAL …
October 3rd, 2008 at 6:22 am
I wish he was still skating like he used to instead. This guy was a pioneer for this generation of skating. Now he has turned kinda funky and im wonderin whats goin on with him. His paintings are good but im not a fan of them. I do think they are over priced though, they look like photoshop illustrations almost anyone could replicate.
