Argent Content (Easy Money) : short film
It took 2 years (1998 to 2000) to Philippe Dussol to produce and realize this short called Argent Content (Easy Money) while having some financial problem to finish it. Argent Content can mean 2 things in french (spoken language) : happy money and cash money. Enjoy the movie !
Mini Review by Bob the moo from Birmingham, UK :
A boy and a girl are looking for sponsorship to help them finance a robbery. They discus why they have chosen this life while their first job – a bank robbery with a high speed roller-skate escape – is told in flashback.
This is certainly a nice change of pace from most shorts I see which tend to be high on arty metaphor and low on action. This goes the other way – high on action and low on anything resembling reason. The story is interesting enough in the telling – the couple describe the frustration of spending their lives working just to pay the rent and eventually having holidays when they retire, while the job is told in black and white.
The action scenes are well handled – the fantastic camera work really gives a great impression of speed and the two skaters are very talented. The gunplay is a little like an episode of the A-team in that no one gets hit, but it’s still very enjoyable. It’s a little like the 20 minute LA shootout in Heat – except on skates!
Overall, it’s an action short – it has its flaws but it should be enjoyed for what it is, a nice little action scene that does have the pressure of supporting a film.

Well it sure was like something i never seen before although it was freestyle skating but so what…
Pretty true it is stupid to slave youreself to death, it would be only fair if the dangerous or not so fancy jobs would be paid better and the nice fun jobs like acting and singing they should be paid bad as their more fun.
It seems the more “poopie” the job is the more bad the pay is…
Really hate that fact, solution to this would be to pay everyone the same pay no matter what they do for living but dream on…thats not gonna happen.

That’s called communism deshy, and no, it doesn’t work.
Pretty cool rollerskating, i never imagined doing a bank robbery that way. Seemed effective, but then again so would using a unicycle to run from cops if you filmed it right. I find it strange that the swat was able to keep up with them even though they were hauling ass.

This short movie was amazing, it’s definitely the best pursuit action I never seen before (exept for Taxi by Luc Besson). Hollywood producers always tryed to get evolved with an extreme sport pursuit but never came close to the tirdth of this. Remember the scenes in XXX when you say to your self no way…
I am very happy to see that a couple of core French videographers succeed this. I am amazed!

of i understood that correctly im guessing the whole time they where pretending to be the actual bank robbers and the story was them robbing bansk but they ended up being the ones making the movie and it had nuhting to do with them robbing banks to get money and have excitement but to actully make movies for the excitement…right?…

I remember this short movie…i saw it a while ago.
It’s really well done, filmed and edited. It actually should inspire a lot of “tricks only filmers” out there to do something a little bit more articulated.

That movie was sick. I herd that rollerskate dude did the followcam for “Lords of Dogtown”. The final twist is the topper.
