Whats up with you Amall dudes and trick names! Somehow that takes away alot of your credibility! Have you guys only been around for 2 years?
His stance is one of the most elementary in skating! His back is towards the obstacle he grinds! He makes a 90 degree turn to grind! how is this not a backside!!!??
How is this a truespin trick?

i always knew like that:

right?

its not even a savannah, SAVANNAHS ALWAYSSSS HAVEEEE A 270 IN THEM, thats the rule. this is a true backside unity. truspin savannah would be like a truspin pornstar but turning your soul foot a tiny bit more into a unity. regular savannah would be like an ao top porn with your foot turned into a unity.
kindda disappointed AMall got this wrong..
November 11th, 2010 at 3:51 pm
“A regular savannah would be an alley-oop topporn with your foot turned into a unity.”
Exactly. So spinning into this trick from the opposite direction (i.e. AWAY from the obstacle) would make it a Truespin Savannah, just as spinning the opposite way into an alley-oop topside pornstar would make it a TRUESPIN topside pornstar. AMall did not get it wrong.
If instead the term Savannah was used for a frontside alley-oop unity, then this would be an AMall Trick-Tip for a Backside Savannah. However, since a traditional savannah is ALWAYS backside, you cannot call this a backside savannah. It is simply a savannah spun into from the opposite direction. Thus, a Truespin Savannah.

Guy up there has it right, because you spin at it from the other way its a tru savannah
November 11th, 2010 at 5:09 pm
I think Amall calls the tricks they’re giving tips about wrong on purpose, just to laugh at how easy it is to get you rollernews kids to start arguing/hating. Next they’ll teach us how to do a truespin alley oop farside acid mizou.

its tru savana u fucking noobs XD
November 11th, 2010 at 5:17 pm
I m skating about 15 years. In the beginning there was a lot of different names for same tricks. You must know this:
TRICKS ON FRAMES CAN BE: FRONT, BACK, BLIND SIDE (a lot of people call it 270 back side) , 270, 450, 630 etc (there is some difference on half pipes & etc there is also, front, back, blind side, but you have 360, 540 inspin and outspin)
TRICKS ON SOUL PLATES CAN BE: ALLEY-OOP (AO-180 on front side turn), TRUE SPIN (TRS-180 on back side turn) 360, 540 etc (on top sides or soul sides and inside or outside spin) (also difference on half pipes and & etc you have normal grinds, top sides, AO, TRS adn 270, 450, 630 etc)

your not spinning on to the rail. you are doing a savannah from your back side. PERIOD but it is still possible to do true spin royales since you actually spin to the feature.
November 11th, 2010 at 6:24 pm
NOT EVEN A SAVANNAH. HE DIDN’T EVEN GRAB IT! WTF!
November 11th, 2010 at 6:28 pm
For Anyone skating for more than a few years it’s true sav. Y’all are a bunch of fucking noobs for thinking otherwise. This is further proved by your immature little baby boy bitch style comments.

???? ????? ??

In fairness, for those of you arguing about names, different tricks are called different things in different countries.
I’ve seen Byn souls called Tabernackels for example.
Some people still call Top Porns Sunny Days and ao top porns cloudy nights.
With this particular trick, locally, in my experience, the difference between a Unity and a Savannah is which leading (as in in front of you when sliding) foot is in front of you (a.k.a. if standing stalled) with the unity the leading foot is the front foot and the savannah it’s the back foot. That’s just how it is here though.
Which would make this a back savannah, in the same way I say back royale as opposed to true royale, similarly, I don’t call a farb an alley-oop royale.
This’ll be debated all over the place for years to come, but when you get down to it:
Can you do it?
Can you do it with steeze?
Can you switch into and out of it?
Can you spin into and out of it?
Can you do it switch?
Can you do it on big shit?
Way more important than the name.

There was a point when the name Savanah didnt even exist. Yes people were doing Unity variations already, but it wasnt called a Savanah yet.
In the Unity family of tricks there was Frontside Unity and Backside Unity. THEN came Frontside Savanah and Backside Savanah (which is what you see here).
Its “Backside Savanah” because calling tricks “Truespin” didnt start happening til after people starting calling that Unity variation a Savanah.
Truespin tricks are when you land completely blind (180) to the obstical your jumping on. If its not a full 180 then its just a backside trick.
Lesson over.
November 11th, 2010 at 8:30 pm
Backside Royal youre jumping away from the rail, but its not Truespin Royal, its backside. Same idea here.
November 11th, 2010 at 10:21 pm
rotation to the direction of the obstacle = Aleyoop
rotation to the opposite direction of the obstacle = Truespin
no matter the trick. no matter if u use soulplates or only frames & backslides.. no matter if its 90 degrees, 180, 270, 360, 450….
Like this all kids in the world understand what you’re saying.
And fuck those who think it should be complicated because you’ve been skating for your hole life and because of that you know what you’re talking about. I have 20 yr of skating either…
November 11th, 2010 at 10:49 pm
So a Backside Royal is a Truespin Royal? Thats nonsense.
November 12th, 2010 at 1:25 am
oh my god, everyone just shut the fuck up already.i hope kyle hunts all of you down and puts an end to your lives with that damn shotgun, seriously.

November 12th, 2010 at 7:34 pm
a savana and a unity are two different tricks. calling a back savana a truspin untiy is like callin a mizou a tru spin soul
