Alchemy: Press Release & Edit

A New Beginning.
It’s time to clear up the crap surrounding Alchemy.
As it stands, there is less than a handful of reputable boot companies in the blading world who actually give a shit and put back into the industry. Over the first two years of Alchemy we’ve already sponsored some of the UK’s highest profile comps, help fund skateparks, flowed product to up and coming riders and established the respect of the UK’s most influential characters. Anyone that had their eyes open at this years NASS should have noticed the abundance of Alchemy banners on the street course as well as hammers dropped from our first official rider, Andy Gilbert.
If we wanted an easy ride we wouldn’t bother putting back into the industry.
The cynics may argue that we’re trying to get a quick buck from rollerblading but Alchemy was born from a distributor who has been releasing aggressive skates for the past ten years. And after watching the standard of the UK scene evolve, we realised it was time to develop the first pro level boot company from the UK.
To develop Alchemy, the distributor teamed up with some of the best UK rollerbladers as we knew this had to be a brand for skaters, by skaters. Everyone involved with Alchemy had the same vision; to create a high quality boot company at a reasonable price, from a UK brand with longevity.
Anyone that thinks there’s easy money to be made in creating a boot company from scratch needs to question their own sanity. Especially in the current rollerblading climate where some major boot companies have made their quick buck in the industry’s peak, and left when times got hard. We at Alchemy understand that to get back, you first have to put in.
Instead, we’ve been busting our guts hooking up riders, travelling to comps, shooting edits and developing our skates. We can’t give too much away, but keep your eyes peeled for more news on a full team and future product developments.
Alchemy is here to stay.

wheres this skatepark looks sick
September 29th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
nothing wrong with these skates i prefer razors but they look fine if you like the tightie look maybe, at any rate theres nothing wrong with the company, what makes the skaters owned brands more ethical when the skaters themselves could be just as big assholes as those who run this company, the quality control is certainly better from large distributers I find, crap usd buckles the break, or m1 wheels that core anyone?

…let´s just wait and see…maybe we should give them a chance…

The park is Southsea - In Portsmouth.
The bowls are about 20 years old and, as anyone who has ever been there can tell you, are death if you fall!
No one can skate that park better than sam so dont be fooled - that sh*t is hard!
I like the colour of the skate - we’ll have to see what they’re like in real life tho

Yeah Tuffnel makes the park look a lot better than it is, no one else can skate that park as well as him. I think it will take Alchemy a couple of years experience in the skate market and a few boots before they get up to the standard of the big brands such as Razor, but they are on their way which is all good.

Nicenice!
Good moves…liking the look of the skates alot better once there worn in…but thats the same as any skate isnt it? Sweet little edit..
Its really good to see a UK skate company breaking into the market that at this current moment is saturated with US fatcat companys…Keep it moving!
+ yopu can tell that park is a bitch to skate, those bowls looked sooo rough!
Nice write up too. In my opinion it needed this tone..after seeing all the retarded comments people have been coming out with about Alchemy not supporting the sport when its been bang into sponsoring Uk comps and supporting Uk riders for ages now.
Look out for good things from these guys. :P

HA long lasting wheels you must be on crack 1 month if that buy BHC if u wanna support a UK company
October 1st, 2008 at 9:58 pm
??
are you an idiot?
there was nothing wrong with the previous alchemy wheels, in fact im currently riding a pair, and have been doing many drops ect on them andfound them very durable.
once again another fool that doesnt know anything.
+ ive cores two pars of BHC wheels recently
there not bad
but there certainly not as amazing as you want them to be ‘dave’
also, take note that the companys new products havent dropped yet, so anything previous to the take over isnt really commentable (though im finding the wheels swish thankyou!)
October 2nd, 2008 at 9:26 am
Dave, please tell me exactly what the BHC wheels have that Alchemy don’t
October 4th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
