im 1/2 time vert rider, and i gotta say…
1. vert’s much more underground, but theres a handful of skaters that are progressing the style just like street is progressing
2. one of the cool things about vert… since noone does it much anymore it gives you the chance to develop your own style and invent tricks. there arent competitions anymore, riders just have sessions together. for the most part, if you can ride one vert ramp, you can travel around and ride other ramps just like you were at home.
3. these pictures are OK, but they dont show some of the cooler stuff like truespins, corks, and huge air that really rep vert rolling.
just like street riding its a hard sport and its dangerous, but its more about airtime and height than grinds

Love to see them ripping this huge vert ramp, I skated much Vert back in 1995 till 1997 and in this very ramp a good friend of mine had a bad slam and broke his hip.

People talking about halfpipe skating as gay are wether wise nor do they have tough balls enough to skate vert like we do it.
Some have just missed out on the evolution and will never leave the ground………… and that is far beyond old school…. it´s freakin prehistoric

What is it with the bitchy comments? (see Korp; first comment). Apart from being pointless, they are also out of fashion. Finally the competent skaters appear to be losing their patience with some sad juveniles who as yet have to learn to handle the newly aquired testosterone combined with a little adrenaline. to be honest… b4 i started my way in the pipe i was streetskating 24/7.
you CAN NOT compare street to vert when you do street then you have alot of different options where to skate… what to do… what to combine and so on when it comes to the vert skating…. you only have 1 PIPE and you have to be much more fearless to skate vert than to skate street (well maybe that´s just me)
BUT THAT´S NOT EVEN THE POINT.
imo you are actually not even allowed to call such a NICE air “gay”
