   Style + image. That’s what I miss about todays rollerblading – to watch guys like Colberg and have a little wish to skate and look like him. 8-)

    This dude was doing full-cab true fish on nipple-high flat rails back in like 2001, 2002. One of the best ever to do it. Tech, steez for days, gaps, he did it all.

    I DARE anyone in this Rollernews forum to talk shit about Abdiel’s skating! This dude REALLY killed shit on blades back in da’ day! He had it all: hammers, style, trick vocabulary (those full cab TTS! Damn!), SWAG, personality and humbleness. He putted Puerto Rico on the spot for being the first and the ONLY Hispanic professional rollerblader to have his own pro-skate (USD). He and the REAL Puerto Rico OG Crew (Juan Carlos León, Cristian (Ausubo) Rodríguez, Alejandro “El Bori” Vélez, Carlos “Picapiedra” Payán, José Cuervo, Omar Ferreira and Vito Alvarado inspired me to blade to this very day and their skating was so ahead of their time. Now I’m 30 years old and still roll thanx to these guys and Abdiel Colberg. If Rollerblading had a hall of fame I think Abdiel Colberg must be in it! Abdiel Colberg is a fuckin’ ROLLERBLADING legend!

    This guy is Puerto Rico’s Rollerblading YODA if U know what I mean! That trend to grind the rail beneath the rail… Well U can see it in this old Cristian Rodríguez edit from MANY years ago…! ;) This dude taught me how to do a frontside grind back in the day on Mayagüez “El Parque de los Próceres”… (A spot that appears in the first part of Step Two)

    some filthy ass tricks in there. Full cab TTS boom! There’s a lost style in tech tricks that people like colberg, sagona, wysong, and latimer had in the early 2000′s.

    rollerbladings prime! everything was so perfect and unique back then there was absolutely no need for a change or a so called “progression”. rollerbladers did their own thing no matter what the outside world was thinking. now we are hated as much as ever but we look exactly the same like all the other kids with their skateboards and bikes etc. the mainstream industry finally got everybody in line and everybody is following the same trends now. the indie hipster wave or whatever you wanna call is just like a plage like “return of the bodysnatchers ” lol

    whatever abdiel is/was the fuckin MAN!!!
