What do they use to wax ledges in edits?

I've noticed that whenever you see edits with people skating ledges, that they are usually black on top. Is this just from years of abuse of wax and soulplates? Or do these guys grease the hell out of them with some silicone or oil???

yes ledge get black with time, this is a mix of dust, wax and particles from your skate parts

yea its just when ledges are skated heavily over time and re-waxed over and over, and ledges that are open to the elements will collect all sorts of dirt, dust, rain and look black after a while. its like that wierd horrible dirt mix you get covered in falling inside indoor parks thats a mix of wax, dust, wood splinters, oil from bikes etc.

theres a ledge near me like that from years of bmxers, you cant really skate it now though because its so rounded and chipped
