i am from singapore and would be going to UK for 4 weeks. So are there any skateparks there and shops?
Yea dude not much of a scene up here, but there are a few of us out there.. As for shops not many - one in the metrocenter called skate shack i think (http://www.skate-shack.net) but it doesn't carry alot. other than that you'd have to drive for a couple of hours to find anything else. As for skateparks not many large ones - Indoor you have dynamix skatepark (under construction but open) (http://dynamixskatepark.com/) and newcastle main park exhibition park ( - i know its skateboarding vid but gives you an idea of the park).Middlesbrough - prissick isnt far away (http://www.prissickplaza.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Prissick2.jpg) There are alot of small parks out there too - virtually every town. Can give you more info on the better ones if you want. If you dont mind driving - other indoor parks are around 2 hours drive away, namely edinburgh transgression park (http://www.transgressionpark.co.uk/) leeds works skatepark (http://www.theworksskatepark.co.uk/). If your prepaired to drive that far Unit 23 in Glasgow (around three hours drive) - (http://unit23skatepark.co.uk/) and EK park (again 3 hours) also near glasgow i think but never been myself (http://www.ekpark.co.uk/layout.htm). These are just to name a few - if you want to skate you can contact me and we can skate while your here, always can get a couple of guys togeather. Hope you have a good time here Nick
wow. thanks man. i probably would not be able to do much travelling as i have to be at the school almost every weekday. but when i get the chance i will go to those that are nearby. i would be staying at the hostel at Newcastle University. so what is the nearest skatepark around that area. also do your usually order from locoskates?
No probs dude, thats cool your local outdoor park will be exhibition park which is almost on the university campus, from the main entrance it is just a couple of hundred meters. Check the vid in the last post or youtube it (exhibition skatepark newcastle) should bring a couple of vids up.The closest indoor park is dynamix skatepark which is just a short bus journey or drive away - (http://dynamixskatepark.com/) - this park is a charity park i think and last time i went it was still under construction. i believe it's still open though... don't hold me to it. i've ordered from locoskates before great company and service i've also used :- proline skates (http://www.prolineskates.com/aggressive-skates/complete-skates/), rollersnakes (http://www.rollersnakes.co.uk/category/inline-skates.html) and routeone (http://www.routeone.co.uk/Store/Inline/Type-is-Aggressive Skates??inlineland125) all great in service and delivery would recommend any of them. Have fun man - when are you coming over? september intake?, I have to work on saturdays but im free almost every sunday so hit me up if you want too. I drive so we can get a good session anytime?
hahaz... i will be there on the 8 july. but only for 4 weeks. so i will be heading back early august. this is just a student exchange program.
